  • Jack Mondry will discuss his analog clock that takes advantage of Persistence of vision principal. He uses a series of flashing LEDs under a spinning computer hard drive platter to create the illusion of stationary clock hands.
  • From interviewing for a job to presenting an innovative idea, concept or product to an investor, a mediocre or bad presentation can turn a ground-breaking, innovative idea into a non-starter pretty quickly. Peter Baker will review and highlight the presentation skills we all have inside us.

  • Justin Grammens will cover the presentation he did at the Google DevFest Twin Cities Conference on using Google App Engine, the Go Programming Language and Arduino to send sensor data to the cloud.
  • Chris Opp will demo the Smart Citizen Kit that he’s been using to monitor the environment around and inside his home.
  • Baskin Tapkin will cover some of the dabbling he’s been doing with a BeagleBone Black since January.

  • Lon Koening will talk about his experiences with the Adafruit Trinket (ATtiny85 based) platform when he made blinky Christmas presents for his family.
  • Josh from RechargeCar will give us an introduction to two of his hobbies: electric vehicle conversion and car hacking. Then he will discuss the company these hobbies inspired and Macchina an Arduino mega clone that he built to make car hacking easier.

  • Igor Ramos will share how he failed many times in creating Arduino/hardware projects over the years until suddenly he started to make measurable progress. He will share how he broke down the process and how if you are hoping someday to create a product, you can pursue your dream. Igor posted a video of his presentation.
  • Baskin Tapkan will discuss the temperature collection system(s) in his basement office. Baskin’s slides
  • Leon Durivage will give a lightening talk on a smal LED headband designed for the Skrillex concert that he developed.

We had a packed house with amazing turnout tonight! Thank you to Kristina, Colin and Troy for your awesome presentations and discussion with the group. I thin everyone left feeling very excited and energized from all of the discussion. Look forward to seeing everyone again in December!

  • Building Wearables – Kristina Durivage will provide the design process behind two skirts that require a power supply. The first one is a skirt with an EL wire trim. The second is a skirt with an LED array, joystick, and Lilypad Arduino.
  • Measure That Water Flow – Colin Hirdman will do a lighting talk about a project involving the use of measuring water flow with Arduino!
